Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for commercial analysis in the audiovisual sector: a case study of designing TV schedules

 

The purpose of this presentation is to introduce a new AI-based decision support system that makes use of machine learning and genetic algorithms to obtain television schedules that can meet pre-defined business goals. This project looks for a hybrid approach combining classification and optimization algorithms to achieve one more step in the digitalization of the audiovisual world. The result  is a tool that can be used by TV experts to automatically design TV schedules according to different business objetives. The validation of the approach has been done with one year of TV statistics and in the context of designing TV schedules for the Spanish National TV (RTVE).
